It's not legal to bring nitrous into the passenger compartment. An electric guage will work but they're not cheap!

Err...Nitrous?

You'll be all set with that gauge in there. Not like any cop would be able to look at it if it's in your center vent.

Besides a line rupture getting you high! - it could react with any little arch or spark not to mention the shock of 1000PSI in your face!

My legal comment was in regards to tech. It is not legal - now, would you get caught ....? But I agree, the electric is a ton easier.

I must have been smoking somehting when I read your first post . Whoops, I don't know where I got cops from? After looking at it again, I would agree, you probably won't get busted for it. At my local track, tech in is really no big deal. I've heard it is much worse at other places though, they basically just let you do whatever you want.

Electric is definately a safer way to go, just more expensive. I would agree with the above post...

mechanical nitrous pressure gages are LEGAL. The only requirement is that at the point where it connets to the main line is orificed. Auto meter sells a fitting that takes care of this. The orifice prevents a high flow of nitrous to the gage if the line or gage breaks.

The Autometer part number is 3227 (Nitrous/Fuel Restrictor)

You are correct, no worky worky for fuel. You must use an Isolator to bring it into the car. However if you are going to run one on your cowl that fitting is a good idea (for fuel).

Minor problem with that philosophy...
Nitrous oxide can displace oxygen. without heat, it doesn't release oxygen. So for instance, if you had a leaking hose and had the car parked overnight (or longer), it could essentially make your car an oxygen defecient atmosphere.

And if you get in your car without daudeling, you might not notice until it's too late.

If you want the gauge, get an electric.

Also, autometer just released an electric nitrous gauge in their Cobalt line. Had them in the C5 when I had the ATI... gotta say they do look pretty good at night.
