Default 100 Shot Re-Tune WOW!!!

Well i got my computer back from a retune since i was running on just 75 shot 13.2-14 A/F. WOW what a difference, now even at 100 shot im running at 11.5-11.8. I noticed it was the same A/F when i tried 75 shot as well this time around it stayed the same 11.4-11.8 A/F i thought if i were to go up too 100 shot it would be running leaner but i guess not. Im gonna run a 125 shot jet and see what happens.

My friend was sitting in the car with me and even he said its made a huge difference. Before when i did a 100 shot it only felt like it was 20-25hp really was that bad it hardly felt much faster. Now i can finally start working on getting better tires and clutch and move on.

This is why dry shots (or wet for that matter) should not be used without a wideband. Lucky you didn't go boom.

Timing will kill an engine long before lean will. Alot of your top nitrous guys run around 12.2- 13.1 afr...Imo anything in the 11's is too rich!

The top nitrous guys motors are a lot more efficient than a bolt on LS1 as well.
Being to rich hurts parts more often that what people realize.

Well with 125 shot i think ill be around 11.8-12.2 A/F and hope that is a decent A/F. Ill find out today what it will be when i do a quick run with the 125 shot. My A/F before just with the 75 hit with bottle pressure at around 800psi was 13.2-14.0 so it was high for me and running to lean. I have to give Frost credit its really hard to dial in a tune for nitrous and full bolt ons through a mail order and im probably better off getting it dailed in better on a dyno. For now it seems my A/F is ok and not too rich or lean.

Just tried the 125 shot and it was about 11.8-12.4 A/F, not too bad. Ill try it again when im going home. At night its easier to look at the gauge and see whats going on.

I fully unserstand that and agree...let me be more clear. Tuning for afr is wrong on a nitrous motor. too rich and overly timed is a recipe for disaster. Nitrous motors need to be tuned by reading spark plugs. 11 afrs is probably too rich but not disasterous on a bolton ls1. Generally speaking 12.2 range should be ideal with the op's setup, but I would still read the plugs.

I know its not the most convienent thing to do, but I would read the plugs. Find a stretch of back road you can go wot(or go to the track) and put a couple new plugs on each side of the motor(easiest access). Do a wot run on the jug with little drive time. shut the car off and pull those couple new plugs, put the old ones back in, drive home and inspect. Post pics if your not sure what to look for.
