Default n2o advice

Been looking thru alot of posts on here and the corvette forum, figured I was ready to make a post with my questions.

I have a C5 Z06, 475whp (dyno proven in 100F temps) Curently with new mods I should be around 500whp. I am looking for just a little more.

I want to keep a n2o setup simple, stealth, and safe, and like we all want, inexpensive. I only plan on a 50-75 dry shot before the MAF.

This is the kit I am looking at:
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...&product=3999#

And this switch panel:
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...8&product=3459

I have a large halo ring already from when I started piecing together a kit for my GTO. It looks like this:
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...4&product=1213

And a WOT switch similar to this one:
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...9&product=2518

I know I am going to need to do a racetronix fuel pump harness and a bigger pump (still on stock C5 fuel pump), I have enough injector, 60lb'ers are already in.

My questions are;
1) What other items should I be looking to get to run this?

2) Will a 10lb bottle fit under the rear compartment cover in a Corvette?

3) Will the 255lp pump from a GTO work in a C5? (Had a Lingenfelter pump from the GTO build left over, pump only)

4) Missing anything?

EDIT:
I did not see a gauge in the kit, so I am going to add this gauge:

Sounds like you have most of it figured out already, do you have a bottle heater?

I do not, I was going to wait before adding to the kit and run a fairly bare knuckles kit. Just trying to get my foot into the door with a n2o kit to start.

you will want a heater and a pressure gauge for sure. Bottle pressure is very important for performance. Nothing like spraying the car and having a pressure drop when you need it most. Been there done that... I had a 12.0 fox stang years ago. Very simple setup on a stock motor intake to pan. It ran 13.40 motor and 12.0's on 100 shot with a consistent 1.63 60ft. I tried several times to get that thing to dip in the 11's, but it was stubborn. It started getting cool that fall, so I tossed my bottle in the hot bathtub water like usual, then wrapped a blanket around it to help keep it warm. It was the perfect night. I staged, then launched the car on the bottle, with an awesome 1.57 60ft pulled both front wheels. I knew it was going to be an awesome pass right then and there. Then about half track the car fell on its face... bottle pressure drop uggghh! That was my 11. 80's pass right out the window. Needless to say that ended my night and I never got to take that car back to the track... One of my friends wanted to buy it pretty badly, so I sold it before I could take it further. Well that and I got busted racing, so I was kinda burnt out on the whole thing for a while lol. Just my 2 cents

It will be in the works to get, but to get off the ground and running, I will wait on the heater. I have to keep the costs reasonable for right now. The kit, hotwire, and gauge I am looking at about $600 already.

Completely agree with everyone here. a heater is a must. n2o needs to be at a certain pressure or your just completely throwing your money away every time you spray it. There were some cold nights here in NJ before I had a heater and I would wrap the bottle in numerous warm blankets. Needless to say, I pissed away that entire bottle and was left wondering if a 125 shot was even worth it as I barely noticed any gain.

Tried it again with the bottle heater and the right pressure.......I damn near pooped myself.....

I know all about tight budgets, believe me I do.......factor in the cost of a heater with your kit. You can prob find one used on here for ~$60-80.

Not sure about the vette, but on an f-body (in the name of staying stealth) hook the heater up to the clip on the back window defroster. The defroster would turn on for 10 minutes the 1st time the button is pressed, and 5 minutes, each additional time. 3 presses of the rear defroster and your bottle temp is perfect. (again, this was on an f-body, not sure if the vettes defroster worked the same way or not)

TF 220 heads (YT roller rockers & double springs & pushrods)
240/244 .605/.596 112LSA
Stainless Works 1 7/8th Catless LT's
Stock Ti axle back
Vararam Intake with Power duct
Monster STG3 with Chromoly flywheel

What are your plans on removing timing?

for a 50-75 shot I was planing on spraying premaf and letting the ECU pull on its own. If that wont work, I do have HPtuners Pro and can pull timing that way

What spark plug?

Been reading on plug choice, wasnt considering it as a part of the n2o selection but as a reg mainance item. From what I can see based on mod's and the spray shot, I should be looking for a 3 range cooler plug? Suggestions?

No plans on a windswitch?.....Ouch

I didnt intentionally leave it out, I forgot. That's why I asked what else I was missing. Now I know the windowswitch was missing

Dave,
What would you suggest as a base starter kit to begin with? Im just looking to open the door on n2o, and have not ran it before.

I figured giving the specs is better than using its name. Some people dont know the specs by name.

I have a good bit of the rough idle tune out in my Z06, but when it was in my GTO, it was hitting hard.

The dry Halo ring will work fine for what you are wanting to do. The halo ring will be the best way to saturate the air intake flow.

Here is a great link to help you look at the different accessories and what they do.
http://www.nitroustech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2

You will deffintly need to pull the timing out.
