Default Stage 2 Nitrous Questions

Heres the deal, I currently have a single stage Nozzle setup at 150RWHP

I have

6L80E
Window switch
WOT switch
Stand alone fuel system
305/30/18 555R's
Forged 390
LS3 Top end

What I dont have...

Traction when the nitrous comes on. I have tried delaying the hit from 3,000RPMS all the way to 4200RPMS and as soon as I reach the desired RPM its smokeshow and I can only get 1.7 60fts and thats at 4200RPMS setting.

In the beginning I did a 75 shot at 3000RPMS and pulled a 1.5 60ft. So I'd like to add a 2nd stage and play around with a 75 or 100 shot with the nozzle for the first stage and then put the plate back on and add 100-150 shot around the 330' mark. Also, i do not spray through the shifts to help protect the transmission.

-I just dont know if I need to add a whole new kit or what?

-It gets complicated when you add a 2nd shot (at least to me) because
then I have to figure out where to get the fuel?

-Do I need to plumb in a T and use the same bottle already in the car?

-Can I do a 75 Dry hit?

I'd like to stay at or under a 250 shot. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I think I can have a pretty quick car once this is sorted out.

I've ran a

11.00 @ 123.5 with the a 100 shot (window switch was set at 3800-6200) w/the DA at 2900. 60ft 1.68

How about a progressive controller? It will help your traction issues big time!

Better tires and a progressive are the easiest way to fix your traction issues. Nittos are done at the 500 rhwp mark for the most part. Go with some mickey's, hoosier etc. Then a progressive will let you control how much you are spraying on the launch and ramp in the rest as you get further into the run.

How does a progressive controller work? And how do you install it?

I agree.... but I just paid 700$ two months ago for these and they did handle a 1.5 60ft.... they can stick if I can get the power down "progressively"....

Eventually MT's will be put on, hell I might even sell the 555r's....

A progressive controller pulses the solenoids off and on at a fast rate and controls how much of the nitrous is added to the motor. For example you can set the controller to only be doing 50% on the launch and ramp in the rest of the nitrous over like 1.5 seconds. Lets you launch on the lower power but have full power after you get going.

I don't do much work on my car. Especially not wiring lol. From what I understand no they are not to hard to install if you know how to wire stuff. I have not been to a track yet and want to sometime this summer but I have to get my trans fixed first. It broke a couple Fridays back when I was out playing around.

It isn't hard to install it just changes the way you wire things.

It will certainly help! One question, what tire pressure are you launching on those 555r's with?

Something else is definately wrong here. I have hit 150 shots out of the hole on drag radials.

What is your suspension set up like?

Those 18's aren't helping either.

Man, spray that thing thru the shifts! 6l80's can handle some big power compared to a 4l60e. The weakness of the 4l60e is what made people not spray thru the shifts (I did it anyway)

We can make this hook, just have to go over some suspension details, unless you just want to use a progressive controller.

Well I guess i should mention it makes 460rwhp n/a. So its already close to 500rwhp w/o nitrous.

I have 19inch rims but they are sitting in the garage bc the 18s are on so I don't think I'll be retiring the 18s.... it's a corvette so it should hook pretty good, and it has with a 1.5 60ft.

Im thinking that I'll go 50% from the hit and in 2 seconds ramp to 100%

I'm scared to spray it through the shifts

19's will make it worse. Stay with 18's or go smaller

I'm running NO's progressive controller. Easy enough install and very detailed diagrams and programming instructions. As a heads up you need to switch from a relay to a solenoid driver for it to work.
