Default First spray...

Little input please... 5177 kit, 100 shot but a little background, the car NA puts down 408/390,bolts ons and a FMS F11. I recently installed 37 lb Ractronic injectors(also has racetronic fuel pump installed) and had them "parking lot tuned" most of you know what that means, knowledgable tuner but no dyno time, that car runs decent but smells/idles like its slightly rich even has a slight "pop" on decel like a slightly rich condition, but will still has decent drivability manners, well because of work/constant phucking rain/etc. was finally completely dry today and just could not stand it any longer and had to test spray , it pulled like a **** BUT was surging like a **** also bottle pressure was at 950 Question is does this sound like a bottle pressure deal or a tuning deal? Little help would be appreciated

Try by passing you FPSS if you are running the one that comes in kit. Just a jumper wire terminal to terminal will do it. If surging goes away problem found. Sometimes these are set incorrectly from factory. Just an adjustment though.

got any monitor software? If so what does it say? I also take it that pressure remained linear during the run?

Was going to give that a try today, if that is the cause do you have to replace it or can it be adjusted ? Thanks.

No way to monitor it myself but the injectors were scaled by LadyRedhawk on this board and she mentioned that there would probably need to be some tweaking done to them,as far as fuel pressure if I bypass the FPSS I can install a gauge on the fuel rail correct? Thanks for the help guys!!

The FPSS is more than likely is the cause of your surging. Having the larger injectors probably requires a little less fuel pressure so it's possible that your FP is riding on the line of the cutoff pressure on your safety switch. The FPSS can be adjusted.

If the FPSS is the culprit, just adjust it to a lower cutoff pressure. Having it a lower pressure is better than not having it on at all.

BTW, it's good to hear you're finally using your spray.

Alos check your micro switch.Make sure its making good contact all the way through the throttle arm rotation.

Make sure your bootle is mounted properly.

The bottle is mounted on the driveshaft hump between the rear seats, but it does only tilt upward slightly at the nozzle. Approx. what kind of an angle degree wise would be best? I know its not the switch. Thanks

Ok if its pionted forawrd with the nipple down you are ok.The reason why I suggested double checking the micro switch is that I have seen instanses where the arem will come in and lick the micro switch but go just far enough to let the switch go back off also. Its probley that the fuel pressure safety switch needs adjusted.

Glad to hear your issue was easily solved.

Let me know when you're going to the track so I can go as well.

Let me know when you plan on putting it on the dyno because I wouldn't mind cruising up there with you.
