Default ALMOST Done My Nitrous System Installation!

I have everything done from the bottle to the engine compartment, 95% of the underhood wiring, solenoids mounted, N2O and fuel lines connected. What I have left is making all the necessary connections to the console switch assembly which I've located in the "normal" C5 location, i.e., where the ashtray once was.

One thing I need some help with is finding an ignition-switched hot wire both in the area of the ashtray or under the hood, preferable one in both locations.

Can someone help me out? This is for a Corvette.

Thanks!

interior fuse box, wrap wire on a lead of the radio fuse, run 12v switched source wire to ashtray, then run through firewall to the relay. on an fbody there is a gromet near the pcm.

Thanks for the help! Yes, the 'Vette also has that large grommet behind the battery. I've already fished the necessary wires through it into the passenger compartment.

One clarification: Do you mean wrap the wire around one of the prongs of the radio fuse and then reinsert the fuse?

Also, I need the location of a decent ground or ground wire for the console switch assembly. Are there any close to the ashtray/center console area?

Thanks again!

yes wrap exposed wire on one lead of the fuse making sure it doesnt touch the other lead, reinsert fuse. strip like an inch of plastic off the wire.

on a vette im not sure on the ground. find a screw or a hole somewhere that you can put a screw in that is a metal bracket. to verify if it is a good source of ground, get a test light, good thing to have around when working with electric stuff.

Yep, me too. Should find wires easly above the BCM, and that's why their there, for acc. Because you are using this supply for relay activation, all your switches can be powered off this single point. relays take a very low milla amp and all switches together won't be over 1 amp draw. I have like six or more sws on this supply.

NO NO NO! Do not do it that way! You leave open the chance for a potential fire. I've seen several cars burn from kids that want to hook up all kinds of lights and stereo stuff this way. They make special taps the the fuse slides into or though to do it this way. Then you hook the wire onto it with a femal blade connector. Just go to Radio Shack and ask the guy for a fuse tap or fuse tap connector for your mini fuses.

edit:
just saw this, OR, do it like the link shows. What ever u do, don't wrap wire around the fuse post.

You can find a good factory ground in the bottom of your A pillar. Just pull up the trim from your kick panel by the seat belt, strait up, then pull it towards the back of the car to finish removing it(it has 1 or 2 pins that hold the big piece in too). You will see a plate with some wires bolted to it. That is what u will want to use.

ive wrapped wires on fuse posts for years, 4 different cars over the past 8 years with no problems whatsoever. but if you want the connector to be safe, go to radioshack.

There are empty slots in the fuse holder marked "ignition" or "battery" power. Simply use a flat male terminal end to plug into this location. Warning these are not fused, you will have to add inline fuse .

Thanks for all the help, guys!

BluMachine: Found that bundle and used it for both my switched and ground wires!
