Default Dyno TR6 plugs and 05177 NOS kit

I baselined my car with only the tr6 plug change from the 55's. The temp was alot hotter though, 94 degrees and a da of 2400ft. My first dyno was acouple months back and it 70 out. There was a 7 hp difference but that could be weather related. The thing we noticed was the graph was really up and down and the tuner said it was from the tr6's. I would have to say maybe a 2-3 hp drop using the tr6's on a na at most.

Baseline 315hp 333tq a/f 13.0 to 1
NOS 418hp 463tq a/f 12.0 to 1

We had to richen my base tune up b/c the maf wasn't picking up the nos. The last pull was a na pull on a nitrous tune.

na pull 315hp 334tq a/f 11.8 to 1

Thanks for all the help guys.

I noticed a 4 rwhp drop on motor when I changed to TR6s. What jet are you using with your 5177 kit?

I went with a .048 jet and put down:

(Stock 10 bolt w/ 3.42s)
341 rwhp/360 rwtq - motor
441 rwhp/540 rwtq - spray

I was just curious because the horsepower numbers seemed about right, but the torque numbers sounded a little low for the spray. This is probably due to the fact that it's an automatic, you're still running the stock manifolds and LS1 intake. Good numbers for the what you're workin with though.

Guys I'm afraid the only way you're going to see a power gain by running a colder plug NA is if you lean your WOT down a bit to take advantage of the plug. You may also find that tightening your gap to around .030" allows you to run a tad bit leaner than a wider gap. I'd say most engines would show a power gain by running leaner up to the point where you get some lean misfires under load. It's best to do these tests at the track rather than on a dyno due to the dynamic load changes you will see on the track.

If you change nothing other than going to a colder plug it's not surprising at all to see a slight power loss on the dyno when running NA.

Ya I know, It wasn't a matter of gaining horsepower it was a matter of how much will I lose. Good trade off for nitrous though.

I haven't got to the point of spraying yet since I have had some problems. I did however install my tr6's and I think the car feels as strong as ever and its beating cars by as much as ever.

Question 05177 kit

i just got my 05177 kit and it only came with the .028, .030 and .032 jets. i looked up the instructions on holley.com and they say they are the 75, 85, and 100hp jets?? what is the jet number for 125hp? is that the biggest "safe" shot you can run with this kit?
