MAN I CANT WAIT FOR THAT MOTOR TO GRENADE!

Ive always used BP7efs on a pretty much stock setup. Copper is the best conducter. If you into smooth idles, etc, then nitrous much less modding an LS1 is for you. Sell it and buy a Mercedes.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...hlight=IRIDIUM

Besides price, why wouldn't u want to run iridium plugs?!?!? and iridium spark hotter then copper, thats why high reving motors and blown motors run them like Cobra's and Sport bikes.

That must be why Denso and NGK recommends them for nitrous and FI applications. Of course, I'm sure you know more than their engineers.

From the Denso website
Q. What kind of performance will I get from this plug?
A. Generally, you do not purchase spark plugs for performance enhancement. While DENSO Iridium Power spark plugs have contributed to numerous accomplishments through dyno-testing and actual use, their true benefit lies in their efficiency, durability, and improved firing power. Serious tuners modify their vehicles by increasing boost through turbo-chargers, super-chargers, and Nitrous. They are also known to add high-energy ignition systems, tinker with timing, adjust fuel mixture ratios, and increase horsepower through other means. Putting these kinds of demands on their engine increases the need for an efficient, durable spark plug that can handle these kind of harsh environments. That’s where DENSO Iridium Power can make a major difference.

From the NGK website
NGK Iridium plugs are exceptional for use in nitrous fueled, fuel injection and turbo charged engines.

From the Sparkplugs.co.uk website
Effectively, when more fuel and oxygen are compressed in the combustion chamber (as occurs in nitrous/turbo/supercharger use) the result will be similar to that of increasing the plug gap - if the gap becomes too large for the available voltage then the spark simply won't be able to jump the gap. Iridium spark plugs can help as they have a greatly reduced firing voltage (despite an integral resistor) - lower overall than most copper non resistor plugs.

As for the rest of your comments, maybe if you try again with proper English it will be intelligible as right now, I'm not sure what the frig you're trying to say.

Is you into smooth idles?

Denso for me.

Not sure why these would "grenade" a motor or better yet why you can't wait for someone to do it. If you have a valid reason for posting this, please let us know what we are missing, instead of taking joy in other peoples possible misfortune....
Are you trying to be an *** or what? If you are, you get my vote. If not, sorry I missed the fun. It's just me.
I guess my poor old "mercedes" has been lucky so far...... But sure has a smooth idle.

We need more imput on this topic... I have always been under the impretion that you never wanted to run a platnum or iridium plug when using nitrous. I think I speak for alot of others cause until now that is all I have ever read about them.

Do a few searchs, you may be surprised how many ARE using the Iridiums with the juice!
Last thing, don't compare Platnium Plugs with Iridium Plugs, two totally different things. Never use Platnium with nitrous. I have seen a number of discussions why from getting too hot, to actually burning right off! No personal experince, but I will take others words as well as manufacturers word on not to use Platnium in nitrous apps.
I don't believe you will find anyone using the Iridiums having seen these problems and every manufacturer says "yes" to Iridium and nitrous...
Take care!

Cool, I didn't want to change the plugs anyway. I just can't remember what I set the gap to, so I think I'll check a few. All these posts lately about backfires and the dreaded KABOOM have me a little worried as I have finally started putting my system together.
