fuel pump and plugs
Well I am getting ready to order my last few parts. I've got mostly a bolt on LT1 and am going to run a dry 100 zex kit.
I was looking at the intank granatelli 255lph pump. Is there any issues with this pump? Any other recommendations? How many people installed their pumps by the trap door method instead of dropping the fuel tank?
Last thing is plugs, which plugs should I run? Craziest thing to the engine is 1.6 roller rockers, BBK shorties, etc.

Hmm I decided on using the trap door method, after looking at the pics it looks like after the carpet is put back over you won't even notice. Plus well I think I will have to get in there another day when the build I want to do starts.
Anyone have part numbers for the walbro/racetronix? Do I have to do anything when installing these, or do they just replace the factory unit? Do they cost more/function better than the Granatelli pump? Just wondering, I want to order these parts, I get back to the states in 14 days.

You will have to drop the tank to do the trap door method, but that would definately be the easiest thing for the future. When I did the fuel pump in my 94, I had to drop the rear like 3 times because one of the hoses kept coming loose once the pump was in the tank. I got pretty good at dropping the rear but it was because I didn't want to do the trap door method.

i dropped my tank without a lift but it might be alittle different on an lt1 tank setup.i just removed panhard bar,gas tank cap & that plastic piece,i think one screw holding the spout in.i took off the exhaust as well.then iloosened the 2 straps holding the tank in and it pretty much fell right down to the ground.if the neck on your spout if not rubber like mine it may take some wriggling to get out but it will come.i don't think i forgot anything.

The LT1 is basically the same. It does take some wiggling to get it out. Getting the neck out without breaking it and trying to hold the tank up were about the most nerve racking things in the whole process. Other than that it is really simple. But I took mine out every time with no lift.
