Default Does Anyone know the NHRA rules about having a bottle in the cabin

Since I am a coupe I am sure there is more to it. I did by a blowdown tube, but does it have to run outside of the car. I plan to put the bottle next to me in the pass. area

anytime the bottle is not seperated by a sealed bulkhed...it is required to run a blow down tube outside of the passanger compartment.

Is there any rules as to how the blow down tube exits? Can I use nitrous line as a blow down tube instead in the hard line in the kit?

Okay, here is the OFFICIAL rules for 2007:

2007 NHRA Rules - 12-27-2006

While it remains the responsibility of the racer to know the rules pertaining to his/her vehicle and class I would like to highlight some rules that will be enforced in the 2007 Season at Redding Drag Strip. It is important to note that there have been changes in the rules from 2006.

For Super Pro, Pro and Sportsman: (and/or street legal racers)

Super Pro ET: 7.00 to 11.99
Pro ET: 10.00 to 13.99

Section 1A – Driveline: Driveshaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 or quicker and utilizing slicks, except vehicles running 11.49 or slower equipped with street tires.

Section 1A – Master Cutoff: Mandatory on any car with a battery running 9.99 or quicker, any car exceeding 135 Mph or any car where the battery is relocated into the trunk area.

Section 1A – Transmission, Automatic: Spring-loaded, positive reverse lockout device and functional neutral safety switch mandatory. Transmission Shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 is mandatory on any car running 10.99 or quicker; or any car exceeding 135 Mph.

Section 1A – Driver Credentials: Valid NHRA Competition License mandatory for cars running 9.99 or quicker. Valid state – or government issued driver’s license beyond a learner’s permit level mandatory for cars running 10.00 or slower.

Section 1A – Roll Bar: Roll Bar mandatory in all cars (including T-Tops) running 11.00 to 11.49, in convertibles running 11.00 to 13.49, and in all dune buggy type vehicles running 12.00 and slower.

if you are using a flexible line it must use a bulkhead fitting to secure the exit end

this prevent the line from whipping around in the case of a burst disc rupture

.

A decent track or racer will not race without the proper respect for himself & other drivers. A cockpit full of N2O blowing around will not be fun, or safe.

I completely understand but damn. I have spent at least $500 in safety to make sure I protect the engine now I have to concern myself with me. HAHA. Damn I need to figure something out.

The #1 jacket is ~$50-60. If you're in the game, you're going to pay to play.

I would do what you have to do, but a tip, don't waste a bunch of money buying the minimum safety equipment. I would never buy a #1 jacket, and I yell at my friends when they do. Buy the 9.99 stuff, it's better, safer and will last longer than the bare minimum stuff. A big item guys should all have, GLOVES. When I was on fire, you need your hands to get out and trust me, very cheap insurance. Good luck guys.

Talking safety

if you wear a harness 5 pc, in your race car always make sure it is pulled tite in the shoulder straps. you don't want to be moving or leaning over to the side should something happen. you can lose control of the car,if you can't see where your going even for a second. pull them shoulder straps tight.......ask me how i know................RON
