Default Pulling timing with IAT resistor mod -- Did it work for you?

Who has tried wiring their system like this?
http://home.comcast.net/~weaver.robe...timingpull.jpg

Did it work for you?

Thanks,

Jason

I’m not sure if it matters, but my car has a cam, headers, TS catted Y-pipe, and cat-back exhaust. And will have a 100 shot of nitrous and a custom tune soon.

Default pulling timing

u dont have to do that u can take the resistor and bend it to where it goes in both holes of the sensor on your air lid and plug it up and u will pull the timing out

Here's another wiring diagram I made up for my 2006 Trailblazer SS. As you can see my timing is pulled by a separate switch rather than using a relay to automatically pull timing when you arm the nitrous. Both will work.

I only want the timing to be retarded when the nitrous is being sprayed. If I understand correctly, it seem that what you mentioned would not allow me to easily toggle between naturally aspirated and nitrous mode.

I used and still am using that circiut to pull timing along with EFI Live. It works pretty good. I would have used the EFI Live custom Nitrous operating system instead if it was available at the time though. I used the same circuit but modified a little. I ajust the trim pot to make the car think It's 145 Deg outside and then ajust the IAT VS timing adder with my tuning software to take out the amount of timing I want. Pretty soom I'll be taking out the circiut and installing a custom Nitrous Operating system

Can you provide any more details about the pot and resistor that you used?

Thanks!

If your running anything less than a 100HP shot I wouldn't even bother with this circuit(just have the tuner take out a few deg), but the larger shots It makes more sense to me to pull timing since there becomes more of a difference in timing between your NA tune and your nitrous tune. But that's just my opinion of course. Here is the schematic I used, all parts are at least 1/4 watt.

Not at all, as long as it helps. but here is a better diagram if you want it, It shows the correct wire colors to make the connections.

I believe it only pulls about 2 to 2.5 deg timing without modifying you’re IAT vs. Spark table’s(stock). But if you want to pull more than 2.5 deg, running more than 100 shot, and have something like LS1 edit where you can edit the IAT vs. timing then I can see it being worth the effort. If you have EFI Live or any tuning software with a custom nitrous operating systems you wont need this circuit.
It's not for everyone.
