Just a quick question
I've searched LS1tech and haven't quite found the answer I need
Anyways, I'm purchasing a Cold Fusion wet nitrous kit and plan on running a 150 shot.
I plan on getting the TR6 plugs to run... but I'm thinking about my timing. Some people say you can run the 150 on stock timing with colder plugs, some say take a few degrees out.
Obviously the latter would be safer. I'm just wondering if I could offset the need to take any timing out by running a blend of higher octane fuel. Say, 2 gallons of 100 mixed with 6 gallons of 92. Just doing the math, that comes out to ~94 octane.
Thoughts? I also read about the IAT mod... that a viable option?

the iat mod is useful.
What timing are you at right now? I would go to the tr7 plugs as they are a better design- tip wise.
You can run some race gas to help offset.
As long as your timing is 24 and under and mostly stock you should be ok. The only way to make sure is with a wideband a tune for the shot.

Well, I have an 01' Z28 A4 with catback, lid, Hypertech tunner. I'm running the Cold Fusion wet kit. I'm at 100 shot right now with stock plugs, timming, no custom tune. I'm stepping up to a 150 with TR-6 plugs, stock timming no custom tune. Now, when I go up to 200, I'll keep the TR-6 plug with a custom tune. I'll keep yall posted on how it works for me.... ohyeah, I too am useing a wideband, even with the 100 shot.. Just make sure your A/F ratio is a little on the rich side when you spray. I adjust that through the fuel jet. If you go fat you may loose a little HP but get to race another day. IMO

Ok so you have a forged bottom end but stock cam and heads? Interesting..
So you are still running stock Timming tables?
Just for safetly I would remove 2 or 3 degrees of timming for the 150 shot and then work from there. If the car was bone stock I would say you should be fine with out removing timming. However Since you have swaped the bottom end I think I would start by retarding alittle and seeing how the car responded.

the car has been retuned... I'm going to go back to the shop(dynosport in lincoln) and talk to dan and see what he all did.
