nope, if anything it gives better distribution to each cylinder then the composite intakes do. It seems like they are being used more and more as a viable alternative to the overpriced composite intakes.

We have the GM carb style intake and use a Speedtec plate.
5.62@123 with a 1.28 60ft on 275/60/15 radials. I really like the plate setup. We use EGTs on each cylinder and after 300 pills you have to really watch the distribution. If you stay below 300 it is good but after that the EGTs get to far apart.

We have plumbed many of Vic JRs with great results. We also plumb spray bars in the intake. This saves clearence from running a plate.

hood is not a problem, 6'' cowl..i'll try and get some picture on here tomorrrow and some info on the cam...what i've done was i bought a mustang with a ls1 in it. took engine out and i've built me a ls1 power datsun 240z....thanks for all the info..
