Default Power ring vs a plate kit.

if you run a power ring with a dual nozzle set up vs a Dual stage plate kit is there any pros or cons. say a 200 shot to 300 shot. is the distribution the same or does the plate kit help get all the nitrous to all of the cyl. thanks

If the plate is so good then why is there some many single nozzle kits? does a single nozzle lean out a piston? I was just thinking about this.

You only have two discharge points with the dual nozzle kit and obviously one point with the single nozzle. Our plate has 10 discharge points which yields better atomization and distribution to the intake. As for number of single nozzles vs. plates, most of the time it comes down to price, naturally the plate kits are higher. What you are getting for the price is, as i said before better atomization and distribution, slightly increased plenum volume, better appearance and cleaner install (no drilling holes into the lid or intake tract).

The single nozzle system is the most popular sold system on the market. The reason why is it is universal and you can pretty much use it on any application.

A properly designed plate will give better attomization which really matters on higher hp levels as well as a cleaner install.

How is it installed? Are you running a nozzle retaining nut?

We've done a bunch of setups. Both of our shop cars run Dave's plate and love it. We switched from TNT rings for fitment issues and the fact when I put in a manufactures recommendation for 100 HP on a bolt on car, I expect to see 90-110. NOT 125+. That is not uncommon for a TNT setup from our experience.

okay i know mine is a victor jr carb plate kit but i have ran nozzle beofre and now that i have a plate kit i will never go back. i picked up 180 rwhp and 230 foot ponds to the wheels on a 150 shot. i am scared to run a 200 shot. also if you want safety, anything over a 150 shot needs to have better distribution than nozzle. my plate, not a sponsor, can flow 400 rwhp without any problems what so ever on a single stage.

Has anyone done a dyno or strip comparison between a nozzle & plate system to see how much of a gain, if any, there was?

On the Dyno we seen a 5HP gain NA just from putting the plate on. Ofcourse we do not advertise that because its such a small difference and a simple change on the way the car is pulled could make that difference..

The big difference will be in the attomization on higher HP levels..
I would rather run a nozzle over some of the other plate designs on the market. So I am not hating on a nozzle at all. I still use nozzle systems all the time for some customers.
