Default Best local place to buy tires?

I'm looking for 4 245/50/ZR16 tires for my Z. What are the best all around STREET TIRES? I'm looking for good wet/dry tires that are quiet. They will not see much track time. Who has the best prices and what are the ones to get and the ones to stay away from? Thank for any suggestions. DAVE

I'm lookin at toyo Proxes 4's for my next set of tires (until I can afford 17's) Think it was 600 or so for a set of 4 at Les Schwab. I'll have to double check (that's mounted balanced and tax too) I have the quote in my glove box.

I have two places I have bought tires from, one is Costco, the other is Discount tire. Both had great service.

Ryan covered them both Pick GOOD tires. higher end GoodYear, BFGoodRich , Firestone or Bridge stone. SOME of the others are good But thiese are some of the best and most trusted names for all around performance tires

Only reason I did not include NITTO (which I usually run) is they are not the best tire in the rain. They are good for a race tire in the rain but a race tire is not always the best in the rain

I have some Toyo Proxes T1-Ss on the front of my car now. They are the tires they're using this year on ALL of the SCCA cars (road racing), and I like them. Not sure how they are for rear tire traction since I run Nittos, but they handle great. They are basically the same tire as GoodYear Eagle F1s, but about $75 ea cheaper. And I get all my tires from Les Schwab. Same price as Discount, but closer to my house.

Yeah the old proxes weren't very good however the 4's and the T1-S's are pretty good and have done well in all the tire comparisons. I'd go with the T1-S when I got my 17's but I'm gonna go with the 315/35/17 F1 GS-D3's in the rear and matching 275's up front

Bought my Goodyear F1GSD3s at Discount Tire. They were a site sponsor at the time so I was able to haggle a bit at the store. I walked out with all four for less than $800.
