Default Smokey Yunick, SPEED Channel, 8pm Tonight.

American Muscle Car special on "The Best Damned Garage In Town" That's right, Smokey Yunick!!

What a sneaky genius he was for his time! I must have read his book on Chevy's over two dozen times.

Him and Zora Arkus Duntov and Carrol Shelby were/are amazing minds.

that was pretty good, didn't get into as much detail about his sneakyness as I would have hoped.

Not too much technical info provided, but it was still interesting and worth watching. It's a great comment on the accomplishments of a do-it-yourself guy with little formal or technical education.

Yeah, it was more of a biography with car stuff thrown in. I'd like to see a list of all the rules that were written on Monday's after a race because of Smokey.

"If it's not in the rule book then it's legal"

What a car nut he was, basically lived in his shop... I would love to know more about this set of tires he bought at a junk yard & ran a whole race w/o having to change them. I wonder is that is really a true story.

Hehe. My Favorite story for the last 20 or so years has been the Camaro story.

Pulled it with a toe bar across the country to a race in Cali. Borrowed a set of tires and wheels from goodyear and waited till intermission at the track. Talked his way out of the track at intemission and ran faster then ANY car there! Took the wheels and tires off and gave them back to good year put the bar on it then went to bonniville while everyone there was scared to death he was going to race

THIS is the same car the Edelbrocks were talhing about on the show. Not a stock part in the world would fit on it I have heard many different stories abouyt what was changed and done but the ONE thin I know for sure is it was not the same "Size" it was when it came from GM
