Motor ready to drop
With a lot of help from Don & Ellis yesterday (+ 10 hrs of work) I got my motor ready to drop in the car. The cam is in, the heads are on, the rocker arms are setup, the covers & pan are lined up. All-in-all a very good day.

HEY, you guys stay away from my motor/tranny with that pink paint!!!
The compression ratio should be around 9.3:1. At least that is what we figured with the piston dish, head gasket & stock heads. If Ellis would ever tell me what the combustion chamber #s ended up being, I would know for sure.
Did I say "her"?
And again, the est time for it to go in is somewhere around a month away. I still need to buy the balancer & flexplate, I want to get the exh reworked so it's easy to take apart, and next weekend we're putting the cage in.

Funny boy....see if I ever help you install your motor or tranny again.
This was posted by Reckless in another thread:
You will just need a good drill, a really good bit that is just slightly smaller than the tap which is a metric (M10 x 1.50).
-Insert the bolt for the hole you do have and snug it with you fingers so the bracket is where you want it
-Use a punch to mark where to drill
-Remove bracket
-Drill out and tap using plenty WD40
-Blow out or use a bristle brush or similar
-Ready to go!
Looks like I will be missing 1 bolt. No place to put in on a 6L. I hope that isn't an issue with a blower.

Stop teasing us Ford guys
Mark, when I saw the topic MOTOR READY TO DROP, I thought allright, a GM guy is going drop his motor, this ought to be good to watch. Only to find out, your dropping it into your car. :-)) Seriously, it sounds like your going to have an real animal under the hood! Hope all goes well.
