Default Cobra News

Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday that it was recalling nearly 20,000 Mustang Cobra sports cars after receiving complaints that the back of the accelerator pedal could become caught in the floor carpeting and lead to a crash.

Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in late January that it had received about 100 complaints and allegations of two crashes and one injury. The recall affects 19,140 Mustang Cobras from the 2003 and 2004 model years.

All you Snake owners beware!!! Don't need to be reading your obit....

I think if I remember right they used different pedal pads but I can't remember since it's been so long since I'd driven one...

I know Greg with the Mystichrome had his stick on the dyno once.

Mine is pretty sticky period.

And yes, the Cobras have different pedals.

Is there a link? I'm outside of my warranty but would certainly take my POS in if they're replacing.

The GT's dont have the sticking gas pedal. They have, however, been accused of having a stuck brake pedal. Apparantly, cause, DAMN they are slow!

We (Cobra owners) have known about this forever now. Many of us fixed it ourselves.
It takes 5 mins. It didn't take Ford to put out a TSB or a recall to figure it out.
That's a pretty serious issue though. Nothing like having a 600rwhp car and have the
throttle stick at WOT.

Well if he had a shot of the front, none of these guys would know what kind of car it was.
