08 Z06 Baseline dyno
Finally broke in the new Z and made it down to Tom's shop in Vancouver for a baseline. Car is STOCK with ~1300 miles on the clock. After the 3 hour drive down the car sat for an hour before getting hooked up. First pass was a bust since the tires slipped right after dropping the hammer. They were still wet from the drive down. Second run went great. No issues and got some great numbers!! See pics and vid below for the results.

Not according to Katech. Big thread over at CF, lotsa controversy over Z06's putting out more than GM claims. A lot of people say that there are ringers (not sure I believe that) but Katech claims out of the hundreds of LS7's they have put on the chassis dyno they only see a variation of + or - 3 HP (not sure i believe that either). If anything the variation people see on dynos from one identical (stock) engine to the next is IMO tied to differences in drivetrain loss.
I'm pretty sure you saw someone else's car. My car has only been in a shop once (Tom Wong's) and that was Saturday for an hour. Otherwise it has never been inside a shop before.

I would be stunned if they only varied by 3hp! You can get that much variation by adjusting the tire pressure at 465rwhp. But there have always been dogs & beasts in every production run. Tolerance stack-ups dictate that will occur. Might not be a big issue on LS7s tho...

Nice numbers, I played with one on Sunday with a paper tag, was in the COBRA.
We never had a chance to really go, but when he punched it I could not hear it....are they that quiet stock?
Nice ride,
Oh, he and his wife were laughing at my plate the entire time...I wish we could have gotten in a run.

If you have some time to kill or are really interested in this stuff here is a link to a thread at CF that goes into some detail about why there is supposed to be no variation in the LS7 engines and how they are measured and rated per SAE. Some interesting stuff.

Wouldn't have it any other way. First attempt will be the 22nd at Bremerton.
Below ~3800 rpm they are pretty quiet but once the valves open on the mufflers it gets loud for a stock car. Watch the video of dyno run. It gets loud and that is completely stock. The guy on the freeway probably never got the valves to open up hence it was quiet.
