Default Exhaust shops seattle, portland, southern oregon???

OK I'm really sick of this exaust, now the y-pipe is hitting the torque arm mount and I think is still clunking around in the rear.

I know of a good place for regular work in Vancouver but I think its time to get this done and done right. Are there any places anyone can recommend?? Obviously portland\vancouver area would be ideal but I'm willing to travel at this point to have it done.

Actually if I went up there I could also have Ellis check out the rear setup and find a decent alignment shop.

I'm looking for a place that can do high end custom work, hopefully I won't need that but I need something better then a weld a muffler into place kind of shop!!!!

They also asked My husband if they can borrow his C5 vette to do some finish work on a set that someone asked for but then sold the car.

Yeah I found that place in google! Good to know Tom knows him, maybe I'll give Tom a call and discuss. Maybe I can talk the wife into a weekend out there or something. Drive in rent a car and drop the SS off...

The exaust is not that for off, I need to have the y-pipe modified so its not hitting the new torque arm and it is extremely close to the body in a couple of places. I've just spent too much time under the car messing with the exhaust trying to get it to fit right.

Just frustrating getting the rear together and hearing it thumping all over the place, at first I wasn't sure it was the exhaust or something else.

Bobby - Talk to the owner at Hazel Dell Muffler (Len Darnell). He is a motorcycle drag racer (mid 7 sec pro mod) and does quality work and can do custom stuff, but you don't want to talk to just anyone there. Go right to the top to get the good stuff.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!!

That was the place I was talking about in the first post. I took my vert there to get the cats put on. He did a great job but really didn't seem to be into the "custom stuff" like modifing a y-pipe. I asked whoever was doing the work if they could get the low hanging edelbrock ypipe to tuck better and the guy really didn't want to mess with it.

If they have someone that is willing and able I'd be more than happy to take it there...

That is why I say call and try to talk to the owner. Go higher up on the food chain.

Great idea, little vacation to Bend never hurt anyone. I've never been there yet, but I here lots of good things about it. Plus the #1 livable city award a few years back.

Yea Hazel Dell isnt so much into custom stuff from what I could get from him on the phone, very nice guy though.

all the reasons listed are why I built my Own Y-pipe. I took my time(not rushed) and made sure I got it right. Each car is different.

When we built Marks last one we got to one corner and did not have the right bend for it. Missed that one bend screwed the whole pipe up

I Paid more than that to do my Irocs & that was mail order via summit racing, 6yrs ago.

so that is not bad at all, we are not going to be doing the X style pipe we are going straight back on the buick.
of course they will be able to use to design on my buick for almost any abodies.
