Default MMM meet Electron Blue Metallic!

well long story short, i got side swiped by this moron taking her turn to wide and had to replace the drivers side door, strip the front bumper cover, and do some fiberglass work on the front drivers side fender as well as the rear fender. Ive been wanting to change the color and decided that this was my chance. One of my good friends dad owns a body shop so he is allowing me to take all the panels off myself, scuff them all with scotchbrites and all the other prep work that I have done. It was to go into the booth for the first coat of primer today 5/29. Ill have updated pics every week day till its done. This has been alot of fun and ALOT of hard work... scotchbriting a car for hours will leave your fingers killing you! sorry for the crappy pics, theyre from my IPhone

The car will be Electron Blue Metallic when done

Wow... Do most paint shops disassemble everything like how you're doing? No wonder it costs so much! Looking good with the prep work.

well I myself took everything off the car except the body guys took the front bumper cover and drivers side door off. I wanted to get in all the cracks so I took literally everything you can off the car, except the fenders.

ya know ive always liked the rarity of the color and the great shine that it gives, but maroon never really did it for me... I bought the car because of the price and ive always wanted to change the color and I believe this color will make me VERY happy!

heres a little update from today. A few parts got paint and a few got primer. Been blocking and wetsanding all day today and have the car to block/wetsand tomorrow. The parts that got paint are the backside of the hood, backside of hatch, and inside of the doors. The pic of the top of the hood is after blocking/wetsanding and has been filled with puddy. The pic of the bumper cover is before block/wetsanding . The paint looks amazing in person!!! Should have all the parts off the car painted tomorrow and the car should be painted on wednesday.

ENJOY!!!

Update for today, sorry no pictures but didnt really have anything to take pictures of. Today I blocked the car, front of the doors, top of hatch, primered front of doors, and thats pretty much it. Tomorrow morning I will be blocking the doors again, blocking the a small area of the rear bumper, painting the car, then after lunch we will be painting the rest of the parts! So tomorrow I will have LOTS of good pictures and thursday we will begin assembling the car!
