Default Help, gum on paint

I just got home and noticed I hit some gum with my front tire, now I have gum string all down the side of the car. Whats the best way to get this off without damaging the paint?

again, ice. . .. it will harden it and make it brittle enough to simply chip off w/a fingernail. . .

I don't think I have that much ice, I might have to go buy a bag or two. Its literally covering the entire side of the car. WD40 didn't work very well at all, I'm gonna go get some bag of ice and try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Lighter fluid(as in zippo type), seriously give it a try. I keep a bottle of it around and it works awsome for things like this and wont **** up your paint.

It's a trick I picked up from my chain smoking dad(go figure).

finger nails will scratch paint. I wouldn't be putting wd40 on there either.

CLAYBAR... end of thread or goo-b-gone from the dollar store

good luck

you would need some hardcore claybar for gum, clay bar eats the grain away from bugs and tar etc. if the paint safe thinner doesnt work you SOL, trust me its how we take off hardcore adhesive, it can eat off the gum!
