Default intake painting questions

Im about to get an ls6 intake put on, but i would like to paint it red first. Id like to do it myself and was wondering from some of you guys who did this before, if i can get some pointers.. Can i use rattle cans? Im guessing high heat, or is that needed? What all prep work is needed besides a good cleaning? thanks ahead for any help.

you don't need high heat paint.. rattle can is fine.. Duplicolor Perfect Match is some good rattle paint.. prep work would depend on what you want it to look like.. i.e smooth finish or rough? If you wanted a smooth finish then sanding/filler primer would be needed.

I also Duplicolored my intake. Did use the high-temp, though. Still looks great after 3 years.

I like to do a good soap wash, then wet sand every nook and crevice with 400 grit, then wipe down with rubbing alcohol. Then hang and paint. I will usually use a grey primer, 1 to 2 coats, color 1 to 3 coats, and clear 1 to 5 coats.

**** is money yo
