Default red camaro with black engine bay?

in the next few weeks/months im going to prob pull my engine out. i want to paint engine bay (guy i bought the car from had the car painted red, it was silver, but they never painted the engine bay to match, so its still grey). i had considered painting it red to match but i have so much red already on my car i wanna break it up a little. im gonna clean the engine bay up alot, with a red/black theme with braided lines(earls).... any one, by any chance, have any pics of a red camaro with black engine bay???

thanks in advance.

I don't have any pics, but you need to do something about that gray.

I think a good red paint job with some clear would look good IMO. Paint your accessories and intake black, etc. I have a red Camaro and I painted my valve covers red and my other stuff black like my intake.

id go with the black and have those red accents you were talking about. That flat red just doesn't do it for me in an engine bay considering that engine bays don't have clear coats. BTW, like the hood

ok, just saw the post above mine. If using a clear coat is possible, just go all the way and make it a matalic red...

But i think paint it black and call it a day. save your money

either way i go i will clear it. i thinking black. just cause there is so much red on my car, i thought black might break it up a little. with red accents to pull it all together. on the other hand, i thought red to match the exterior would look good to. but the paint is a lil expensive (torch red).

either way i go, that gray/grey/silver has to go.

You should go with black man BUT honesty do what YOU want and not what others want you to do.
Honestly either way will look better than grey.

Did the previous owner paint the door jambs and trunk area as well?

i say paint it black, i have a red lt1 with black engine bay and i think it looks 10x better with a black engine bay than if it had red. i kinda followed the black and red theme through the whole car so it wasnt all red

I think paint it red....there's already a lot of black in the engine bay!

Although, Smoke Em's car looks pretty damn good!

Thanks for the pic smoke em. It does help.

As far as the doorjam question, yes they did. They paint litterally everything but the engine bay.

I'd say roll with black. Yeah the engines dark, but the whole point of owning a "hot rod" car is to be different right? If you like it that's all that matters, it's YOUR money not peoples who see the car at shows, strip, etc. Who cares what they think? They aren't paying for the car/ mods.

here are a few pics of 1quikws6's engine bay, similar in theme to this. minus all the red hosing/loom. but very similar to that.

i think i may go with black engine bay, then get red msd blaster coils, if not hide them. battery cover made to match actual color of my car, as well as painted maf sensor and tb (housings). i have a set of FAST fuel rails (had to sell my intake for xmas money) so ill either pop those on, or sell them and get a set of custom fuel rail covers... all in all i think i may go with black engine bay.

i appreciate everyones comments and opinions. if anyone else has some more, post em! i wont start painting for a months or so, go other bills and stuff for taxes return $ first.
