Whoops, I meant to put this in the appearance section not paint/body-work. Oh well, the paint guys can make fun of my rock chips from daily driving..

Yea that's on my todo list. Am afraid I'll take those off and realize it was covering a type r sticker or something.

lol, well I live in an apartment so I don't have access to a hose. But I also don't like to us the hose or soap down at the local car wash. So what I do is take a bucket of Terry cloths, a nice wash mitt, some decent soap, and a chamois down to the local car wash. All of this is stuff I own and lasts me a long whole, years even.

So I go down to the car wash and for 3 quarters I can fill the bucket with soap and prerinse the car. I spray down the wheels and tips with cleaner, and I soap up the whole cat and spend extra time on the bottom parts, rocker panels, etc, where the car gets the dirtiest. Then for 3 more quarters I can rinse the car. For one more quarter I have time enough to do the spot free rinse option, whatever that does.

Then I dry the car with my chamois and Terry cloths right there in the booth. Take it back home, do the tires and finish cleaning the wheels, glass cleaner, and finish the car with an all over meguiars quick detailer with fiber cloth. I also hit the rubber vinyl stuff e.g. moldings with armor all wipes designed for rubber vinyl, keeps em black.

Soap, quick detailer, wheel cleaner, armorall wipes, glass cleaner, tire spray, costs me maybe 30-40 a year and lasts the whole year, sometimes longer. Towels, bucket, mitt, cloths, chamois, I already have, and the towels cost like 5 bucks for a big package and last the year.

I probably pay about 100 bucks a year to wash it every other week, and I'll bet it's easier on the paint than the auto wash. And it only takes me an hour and a half to do it, inside and out. Wax is extra. I used to pay 40 a pop to get the same done somewhere, and minimum 12 for exterior.

Now I gotta budget in a buffer and some polish.

Yea last owner did it, but I don't mind it; you get used to it after a while, and it's not like it's mod-red and overwhelming or anything.
