Default Door hinge rebuild question

So I'm sure this has been covered but after searching for days I havnt found the answer I need.

I know from factory the upper door hinges are not serviceable. However doorman list a kit to rebuild them so has anyone done that? My driver door is starting to sag and I want to fix it before it gets worse. And I know it's not the fiberglass door caving in. Its the hinge. It looks like all I have to do is grind the hold rivets out an replace bushings and bolt new 'keepers' on.
Part number is dorman 38493

Just wanting first hand knowledge with this please!
Would rather rebuild my hinge then get another used factory one and have the same problem in a year.

After searching and still finding no info on this I just ordered it so we will see in about a week what it takes.
I'll update when I install it.

Well it took me about 20min to install the door hinge kit after I pulled the hinge. Way better. Went together good and tight no more saggy door. Way better then buying a used hinge and hoping for it to last. I would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for the update. I'm having the same problem with my dr side door. So what exactly did you order? You rebuilt the top or bottom hinge or both?

Not familiar with f-body hinges, but with any hinge repair with new pin & bushings, you can always drill(correctly & snugly) to a larger bushing. If your replacement bushings aren't tight in their hole, you need a larger bushing. Most auto store help sections should have something to work.

Default Life With Dorman Kit

I found the thread and wondered now that it has been a few months, are the hinge pins still holding up?

TopDownSolutions. He makes very good kits for thirdgens and s10/s15's that have grease fittings. I'd say if enough 4th gen owners expressed interest he'd make one for our cars. It would probably be easy for anyone who has a machine shop.

Can anyone add to this. My door is hard to shut once it is halfway closed. It takes a lot of strength to get it going. It also makes loud creeking noise. Instructions of removal and install would be great. Also pic of the part that needs to be replaced. Is it on the body or the door.
