Ok I just got a black 98 Z28. The car has been painted black but was originally black.

I'm not sure where I want to go as far as a paint job. I love Red SS's but I'm not going to clone the Z. I'll have a extended Sunoco hood on it.

It's going to be a drag car only but I have to buy a new door and bumper and with the shitty paint on it now there would be no way to match the new panles up or I would just leave it.

So any ideas??

So far I'm picking between black or red but I am open to any good ideas.

Maybe a satin black even...

Personally, I think Red hardtop Z/28s with the roof and mirrors left black are one of the best looking f bodies.

It's looking like it will be satin black.. with the VFN extended sunoco hood!

It wont get painted for a long time though. I'm moving to Wyoming to go to WyoTech where I will back half the car and finnish out the cage from a 8.5 to a 25.5.... I need a color for the cage I wonder if Red would be to BAM!!

That will be one of the baddest cars around in satin black. I honestly think a red cage with black padding would look awesome. Have you thought about a red harrell stripe on the side of the sunoco? What all red accents will you have?

not sure if I would like the red stripes on the hood. (I know what ones your talking about) I think I will have my shop name in red where those stripes would be at. I will have the red on the retro Z/28 badges.. a Black billit grill with the retro badge (either the Z/28 or the blue bowtie) and a sheet metal wing coming off the back of the car. (not a ricer wing!)
