Gentlemen and Ladies,
Up for sale is my APS twin turbo kit. The only reason I am selling it is, because it is not the right kit for my new setup. This is an AWESOME kit for a 293-347ci motor. I am upgrading to a 6.0, and I want to go with a large single. The kit is clean, very stealth, and retains the factory A/C! I am going to miss it, but I do want more horsepower.
My current set up with the kit is in a 2001 SS. I strapped the turbos to a stock bottom 2003 4.8. I installed an LS6 cam, Comp hardened push rods, worked 862 heads (ported, valve job, seals replaced) with PAC .600 lift springs, 80 lb injectors, head studs, and LS9 head gaskets. With a NicD E85 tune, the 4.8 produced 603 hp and 527 tq on 13 psi, with the timing ramping up to 15*. It is a pretty safe tune. The turbos are rated to 18 psi, so there is room for more power.
So about the kit.
I bought the kit from a close friend, and first thing I did was obtain stock APS upgraded turbos. The turbos on my car are from the Corvette C5 Z06 kit that I bought from a reputable member on here. With that being said, I have driven them less than 500 miles. There is very little end play, and they do not smoke. I have upgraded all the hardware on the system. The complete oil drain system, is all A/N fittings. The oil pan with come with the kit, because the bungs are welded in, and are placed correctly. I also have custom made hard intake tubes. The stock APS kit was know to suck the silicon tubes shut during higher then factory boost levels. You will not have to worry about this.
As for what Transmission will work with the kit. My car has a powerglide in it. However, this kit has been paired with the factory 6 speed, a turbo 350, and a turbo 400. No modifications need to be done if you use any of those transmissions. You would have to buy the correct transmission cross member. I do believe a 4l60 will be okay, but I am not certain of the 4L80.
The kit includes:
- APS Twin turbo kit
- TurboXS Manual boost controller with lines
- Upgraded Drain hoses and hardware
- Oil pan with welded in bungs for turbo drains
- Upgraded Intake tubes (No worrying about the inlet tubes sucking closed on higher than factory boost levels)
-I will also throw in my AEM boost gauge
What is missing/issues with the kit:
The kit is completely functional.
- The APS kit requires an aftermarket K-member to be installed. I have one on my car, but it will NOT be included with the sale. I need it for the new set up. BMR has the APS K-member for sale, for I think roughly $350. Since my kit was installed on a mostly drag/grudge project, I am missing a couple of the small things from the kit.
- I do not have the water cooling lines for the turbos. The cooling ports on the turbos are capped off with AN fittings. I have not had a problem with the turbos. After doing research, I decided that they were not an absolute need for my set up. If this is something you need, you will have to locate or fab some lines.
- A couple of the studs throughout the kit are mixed matched, but they are completely functional and not within eye sight while the hood is up.
-The down pipes do have road rash on them, my car is lowered. If your car is stock ride height you will not have this problem.
I am looking for $3500 firm for the kit. Not looking for any trades either. If you want, I can package the heads, LS6 cam, 80 lb injectors, and Comp hardened push rods with the kit for an additional $600. With the heads and cam set up, it did make 603 hp and 527 hp at 13 psi.
If you are local to Phoenix, AZ you can come see the kit, and take a ride. If you are interested, I will need a $500 deposit, and I can have the kit removed from my car within a week. I can deliver the kit when full payment is received.
If you are not local you will need to pay the deposit and shipping. I will not take $3500 shipped. I will need the week for removal, and whatever shipping time occurs. I will send daily pics of the tear down in progress. Once the kit is pulled out, I will package it up and send it out the next day (unless it is a Sunday) after full payment is received.
For payment options, I do prefer paypal (buyer will also pay paypal fees), cash, a direct deposit to my bank account, or a cashier’s check. Details can be worked out later.
You can email me at strongmantaylor@yahoo.com, or call (480) 815-4997, or P.M. me here.

You should buy it, just for the rainy day.

Looks and sounds like a great kit. Too bad you are already lined up on a single kit. I got one for sale with a 88mm turbo, water to air intercooler and all the trimmings. Made 1000RWHP and 1200ftlbs of torque on my 382ci LS1 stroker. Only 8 passes on the kit down the 1/8th mile track.
