Can I remove my rear o2 sensors?
When I installed my long tubes I bought an ORY and o2 extensions to keep the rear o2's.
I'd like to use one or both of those rear bungs for my wideband.
If I unplug both and disable the trouble lights will that cause any problems for the engine/tune?
Thanks

By tune them out - Do you mean to disable the trouble lights or is there something else that I need to do.
I was going to do this.

Thanks!
Unless I just never found them I’m not sure why more write-ups don’t suggest removing the rear o2’s to install widebands. Seems like a better solution for people that don’t have cats.

Take it a step further, tune the car in open loop and take all the o2's out. Now you can put your wideband in the bung in the header collector, and once your tune is set up the thing will stay good forever, no more relying on stupid o2 sensors at all anymore.
Let the maf do it's thing, until it's a restriction, and at that point ditch it too.

Sounds good to me. That was my next item to search/read about.
Do you have any links/info on switching to open loop?
EFILive is sweet if you have a ton of time to sit and read... I have no time, but I want to learn it.

Sit and read man that's your best bet if you're doing your own tuning, either that or look up a local shop that's got a good tuner, and see if you can sling them a couple bucks to give you a couple tuning lessons.. which is a good way to get started too if you're doing it yourself.
If you have the software and there's no emmissions rules or anything so you can get away with it I'd ditch every O2 on the car and the MAF right off the bat, tune the car in SD open loop and that's it no more problems. Car runs off the IAT, MAP and TP sensors.
Less sensors>more sensors

Thanks.
I have EFILive v2 so I'll remove the rears and tune out the error codes. I'll just do some searching on the other configurations. One step at a time.
thanks again for the info.

I am running SD OL and I think driveability is improved. All you have to do to run open loop is the Auto VE process and simply leave it in open loop. Just make sure you spend plenty of time on the VE table and try to do it all in about the same weather conditions. Then to compensate for changes in weather, you can run a custom OS (I'm running #3) and use a table that adjusts fueling depending on IAT temp. If you want to run the maf, you can do an auto-maf similar to the VE process.

I'm currently running COS5 so I can pull timing for nitrous - I can also use the same IAT table in COS5 for SD OL temp adjustment. I've been reading the AutoVE pdf so I'll get that done right after I install my wideband.
