Default Car stumbling, What could be causing it?

Lately my car has been stumbling or hesitating. For example, when I'm driving at 30 mph, about 1500-1600 rpm(fourth gear), it stumbles. It almost would be like if I were constantly and lightly giving gas and then letting off. Sometimes it will jerk pretty hard, but usually it is just a soft stumble/hesitation. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Or is this common? I may just notice every little thing and be worrying about nothing, but better safe than sorry!

Do you have a data logging scanner? If not you really should get one.

i have been trying to figure something similar out on my car for weeks now.

mine is if you go from no throttle to very light throttle it has the slight stumble.

only thing I notice is so far is my 02's drop from the 8-900's to 50 for the split second it acts up.

for some reason something it telling the computer to stop giving the engine fuel for a split second.

why? I have not a clue yet.

Sounds like you have low timing in that area.Try bumping it up a little and give it a try.

CK your tps sensor watch the throttle position sensor reading on you scanner. with the car off slowly start to push the gas pedal while watching the reading, the reading should rise steadly as you push the pedal if you see any blips in it then the sensors bad. could also be a bad o2 sensor.

Thanks guys, I'll check the timing, tps and O2 sensors. Hopefully it'll be one of those

Did you guys ever figure out what the problem was because my car does it as well. Always around 1800-3000RPM in any gear and it is getting worse. No one that I have asked seems to have a clue what it could be. Sometimes it is really bad and every once in a while it doesn't do it. I have autotap but I do not know what to look for.
