If your car's an auto, you may stand to gain slight improvements in the tranny shiftpoints but as for power increases, don't waste your money. If your car's a manual, forget it all together. As was stated, put the money toward good, wideband dyno tuning when the time comes. Sometimes, the power gain numbers advertised by chips and programmers are usually found somewhere in the power band and are not added to peak power numbers. This logic applies to handheld programmers, too. A lot of money, little or no real gains.

I agree forget that hand-held junk. If you absoultley needed to buy one, I would prefer Hypertech. For get J.E.T. I have no experience with the Predator/Diablo.
The only way to go is with LS1Edit.

Wait till you really need to mess with the cpu...Then get it tuned the right by a GOOD LS1 doctor.....Don't waste your money on a jet-chip. If you go to most of the links on the left------------------------------>
You won't even find a jet-chip.

Honestly, although I think the Predator is WAY better than the Super Chips or Hypertech, i'm not sure it's really worth the money. I think it's a great tool for diagnostics and for the minimal amount of parameters you can change, but for that much money, I think it could go somewhere else.
I'm trying to get dyno'd pretty directly with and without the Predator so I can see if it's worth it or not. I wish there was a LS1 tuner closer to me, but if I gain the 20hp advertised with the Predator, i'm going to keep it.

You can get LS1Edit on your own and learn how to tune your own car. There is a whole section on this site that can help you with that and there is actually a whole site for tuning with LS1Edit. I believe the url is http://www.ls1tuning.com, but I'm not sure. I agree with all these guys. Don't waste your time with a hand held, LS1Edit is a one-stop tuning solution for your LS1. You can tune anything from the simple stuff to about as advanced as you can get with the factory PCM.

if you get ls1 edit then you can also get mail order tunes from any tune docter...
just tell them all the mods you have and they will send you a tune that is CLOSE to perfect...(note the only way to be perfect is dyno tuning )
ls1 edit will give you real control over what your car does...
hey pick up a g-tech comp and use that for your "dyno"
the numbers may or may not be accurate but everyone agrees that they are consistant...
so you can tell if you gain or lose hp any time you change something...
