wondering how much a tune will benefit me
well i been contemplating on this move for a while now so im looking for insight on this, i have a 99 Camaro (5.7 A4) when i bought the car the guy said theres and LS6 intake on it with i believe an 85 mm throttle body (MTI Racing) i have now added LT's with an ORY and soon ill be putting a spiral flow or something else besides a catback, i was wondering if someone could base me "round about" #"s towards me getting a tune. i dont know what my expected should be. thanks in advance guys.

Just my experience, I dyno'd with my 2002 A4 Z28 290ish rwhp, added a catback and k&n filter and put in a predator tune and it was 307 rwhp. A year or so later added LT's and dyno'd 320's and after I put it on a dyno and the air fuel was dialed in I ended up over 350 rwhp. So I would do it if I were you.
All the #'s are close to what it was, I don't have the exact #'s in front of me.
You should see a good gain esp if you do a true custom tune with someone who knows how to tune well. I am thinking about one. Plus with the Lt's your gas mileage will be better with a tune and the car will run alot smoother. Mine would backfire etc, before the tune.

a tune is the best thing you can do for the car, even if it doesnt add the HP like you want, the car will be running correctly and safely, which makes for a healthier motor over time. But you should see a pretty good gain in a tune, power band will feel a lot better, and the car will deff pull a lot stronger.

well the reason im wondering on this and leaning towards this is for expected hp gain and smoother idle, it adapted to the LTs well after driving it for a while but it feels like it lost some bottom end.

The LT's I put on felt great for awhile then it seemed like the hp was way down. When I put mine on the dyno my car was really rich, lost around 6mpg and could smell fuel. Once the A/F came in range, so did the hp.

i'm no pro tuner but after tuning my car with efi-live for the cam and other stuff, there was a huge increase in gas mileage and performance. also driveablity is alot better. it's like rotlier said one of the bigest things is getting the a/f dailed in.

well i never got to sit down with efi live much but im a diagnostics nut when it comes to technician work. so i guess i could more than likely figure it out with sometime knowing how things are supposed to run and what not. but efi live seems like an investment that you would want more for to make money off. i guess i should look into it.
