Default Any good LS1 edit/wideband 02 dyno tuning in midwest area??

I have heard of Detroit Speedworks, but not may others. Any other options? I ABSOLUTELY do not want someone to dyno it, send the computer to someone else, get it back, dyno it, etc. I want it all done that day/week. Let me know what your experiences are.

Thanks

SDB

I'm going to try LS Speed Inc near Chicago. I personally think they've done enough cars by now and know what they are doing and won't use your car or mine to learn how as is the case with many local wanna be's tuners.

I've given up on my local tuner where I've spent thousands of dollars (so much it makes me sick and my car still runs terrible).

You have the choice of paying $450 for a dyno tune to a shop who has done 400 cars or pay $450 to a local shop who's probably done 50 and is still learning. It's your choice.

Does Detroit Speedworks do their tuning inhouse, or do the dyno it and then send it out?

Thanks

I am leaning toward Detroit Speedworks at this time.

Detroit Speedworks is no more.
The previous owner now tunes at Livernois Motorsports. They do their tuning "In house".

See the "News" section for details on the Speedworks/Livernois partnership.

I might add that Livernois has a good reputation among the Mustang crowd, so from all indications, the work done there should be up to par with what was done at the old shop.

They just got LS1 edit and havn't done many cars (if any) that I know of. I would consider them is nitrous wasn't involved...too risky. I found that another member has a 422 MTI car that was tuned at Detroit Speedworks with great results. Nothing against EPP, just wanted more experienced tuner for my MTI built 382 stroker (don't feel like spending $7000 plus R&R'ing my motor.

Greg from Det Spd is now at Livernois Speed, he has top notch tuning ability .

I also learned the hard way, spent $500 on a custom mail order PCM. It produced 7 RWHP at the wheels over stock Chevrolet programming. Custom dyno tune added 20+ HP.

Spend the money on a dyno tune with wideband O2.
