Default 2002 harness w/ 1998 computer

I was wondering if anybody knew if a 2002 engine harness would connect to a 98 PCM/Engine?

I think the pinouts are different on the pcm side. Ask Speartech. >>>>>>>

You can also ask this in the conversions & hybrids forum and get an answer.

pinouts on a 1998 computer are totally different than the 99+

get a 98 harness, or 99+ computer, and different temp sensor for the motor.

99 pcm, and 99 harness, should work with your 98 motor, however, the coolant temp sensor, is differnet in 98 vs 99+ (3 wire in 98, 2 wire in 99+) and 99 has different injector size, so some tuning will be needed or you will need to downgrade to 99 injectors. (they sell for cheap, as people always upgrade them)

the computer is programmed for 28.6 in the 98 motor, the 99-00 has 26# injector programmed in the computer.

The computer, should learn the difference, and be fine after a while. But it might run lean, until it learns.

like i said, you could replace them, or reprogram the computer, but you might also be fine with just letting the computer compensate.

but for proper tuning, having the injectors match the computer, is the best idea, imho.

edit: since i read your getting a 02 computer/harness, your within .2#'s of actual injector value vs computer injector value, so you will be fine, the computer will learn that no problem.

the 2002 harness has deleted the egr set up and the computer you have doesn't..so you will have to delete it form the system with ls1 edit.
