i though i would pass inspection if i had o2 sims and no lights on? well i didnt.
i used the hpp3 to reset the ses light for the air system but i guess there computer still caught it?????????????? also am going to put it back to 87 octane tunning for added help. and will get thunder to delete my code tomorrow. hopfully that is the reason its not passing.

Are they doing the OBD-II test, plugging into the car? If so, you have to complete a few drive cycles so the car will complete the OBD-II monitors.. You can have up to 2 incomplete on 96-00 cars, and only 1 incomplete on 01+ I believe... Some tests only run from a COLD startup (ie. coolant temp = intake air temp) like the O2 heater test. Some will take FOREVER to complete (ie. EVAP purge test).

You mean you reset your PCM just before going in for the test? Then of course you will fail. Like stated above, all your readiness tests must complete for you to pass the scan test, and if you reset the PCM (or disconnect the battery) it's gonna take a while. Hell, I last disconnected my battery about 150 miles ago and I still have 4 tests that have not yet completed.

PS. It's not the O2 sims that would make you fail the scan test. I know that for a fact

PPS. If you're only taking a scan test, your 'octane' tuning makes no difference. All they scan for is readiness moniters set and no stored DTCs or MIL commanded on...

That power tuning won't make a difference in the smell of the exhaust. It's gonna smell like that without cats no matter what.

Don't know how LA is, but in IL the smell doesn't matter. Pass the scan, and you're on your way.
