i thought i would pass inspection
i though i would pass inspection if i had o2 sims and no lights on? well i didnt.
i used the hpp3 to reset the ses light for the air system but i guess there computer still caught it?????????????? also am going to put it back to 87 octane tunning for added help. and will get thunder to delete my code tomorrow. hopfully that is the reason its not passing.

Are they doing the OBD-II test, plugging into the car? If so, you have to complete a few drive cycles so the car will complete the OBD-II monitors.. You can have up to 2 incomplete on 96-00 cars, and only 1 incomplete on 01+ I believe... Some tests only run from a COLD startup (ie. coolant temp = intake air temp) like the O2 heater test. Some will take FOREVER to complete (ie. EVAP purge test).

PS. It's not the O2 sims that would make you fail the scan test. I know that for a fact
PPS. If you're only taking a scan test, your 'octane' tuning makes no difference. All they scan for is readiness moniters set and no stored DTCs or MIL commanded on...

Don't know how LA is, but in IL the smell doesn't matter. Pass the scan, and you're on your way.
