We like to consider ours the best system on the market and while there might be cheaper options out there I think you'll be hardpressed to find a more complete one at a comparable price.

$649 gets you a pro interface, enough credits to tune up to 4 vehicles off the bat, a high end fully adjustable scanner software, custom operating systems, a huge list of supported vehicles that not only includes GM but Ford as well and we are always adding support for new vehicles so no matter which direction you are headed for the future theres a good chance we'll support it.

If you'd like a copy of our demo software shoot me an email at support at hptuners.com and I'll send it your way so you can try before you buy.

I think you'll find our GUI(graphic user interface) the most pleasing yet very functional.

I prefer HPtuners over EFILive and LS1edit, but it mostly comes down to user preference.. Especially between HPTuners and EFILive.

Both are easy to use, both do the same stuff. IMO though, there is more support for HPtuners both via HPTuners themselves and also through other users.

Why weren't you impresses with EFI. Just not used to the different interface perhaps.

To bring Macca out and get him fired up

[I have nothing to do with this, I was just thinking of making a countdown until he posted yesterday, but the day time got away from me]

I like HP tuners it easy to use the interface is great.

The one thing that would make it the greatest would be to add the ability to go segment swaps like you can with efi live.

EFI does also give you custom OS for no extra charge.

To defend the whole segment swap thing a bit, one of our customers just sent in a file for a segment swap at 2:10pm and had the new file back at 3:50pm so I don't think theres much of an advantage other then you need to send the file to us, in many cases we've tracked down a compatible file for the customer rather then having them waste time trying to find one like you would have to in some cases with EFI, so this one is really a toss up as either can get it done, we just do it back office on a case by case basis.

As for the "free" custom operating systems, that free comes with a price tag of an additional $150 upon initial purchase and in some cases no custom operating systems available at all for some applications ie 2006+ trucks which they've stated it comes down to demand. We just happen to put a credit association with it so we can get our R&D costs back in some way other than having to sell one more interface for an $800 price tag. Its really a toss up IMO when it comes to those things as you are obviously paying to get these additional features no doubt about that. You are just paying in different ways.

Just to clear up some of the confusion then, what segments swaps can HPT do for us customers other than trans segment swaps.

When I asked about different fuel segments swaps a few months ago I was told that you could not (or would not) do that anymore, so I had to do it with EFI.

Don’t get me wrong I like my HP Tuners and the support is great I always get fast professional responses. I can get more licenses fast thru HTP online order system at any time of the day or night.

I know you guys are working very hard on the new version but it’s been almost 3 years in April since the general public has seen an update to the HP Tuners software.

Dodge Licensing is finished and awaiting final Firmware updates which have been pushed back until after the 2.24 public release for the sake of keeping the beta stable.

This Beta also produces a new Debug.dat file found in your hptuners-settings folder, this should help with editor and scanner comms problems

This Beta also can produce an hptuners crash log if the software crashes for some reason. To save the crash log click send report, then retry, then save report in the crash pop up form. This will be used to easily track and fix any crashes in the software.
So yeah while we've been in beta for quite a while its not because we've wanted to be nor has it been because we've been sitting back not doing anything. We've had issues with switching over to the newer net framework, installshield, etc that have all pushed out timeframes back.

Trust me we want to roll out 2.24 faster than everyone wants it pushed out but sometimes there are 3rd party issues that have held us back as well.

-Bill

I can confirm that fuel segment swap is a cosmic science to do. I tried to get it done for over a year and left it. From what I understood, only one operating system (12212156 ) can have segments changed, so I would have to change to that from my current OS and then try to get segments swapped

We offer segment swaps for any 99+ LS1 operating system, the problem is the only fuel segment I have on file for doing a swap from a 98 LS1 pcm to a 99+ LS1 pcm is for that 12212156 as it seems to be the most common to use when going with the newer pcm.

We can do it for any other but finding a calibration with a compatible segment with the changes you need is the hard part.

If I have 4L80E now in my 98' LS1 with PCM swapped to 00', and I want fuel gauge to work, I need both trans and fuel segments swapped, correct? Can you do that? I agree to spend credits to change to 12212156 OS...
