Default 2006 c6 reluctor issues

Hopefully someone can help me out with this. Recently I had a buddy pass away, and I inherited his LS2 base, 408 that he had in his 2001, SS Camaro. Since his death, I have removed his motor and put it in my 2006 Corvette. After trying to start it with no success, I did some investigation and found out that his engine must have a 24x reluctor pick-up (black sensor). My question is does anyone know if the ECM in my C6 Corvette can be reprogrammed to run with a 24x reluctor? I’ve considered ordering a custom computer or a converter box made by Lingenfelter. Pulling the motor back out is not really an option at this time.

I am under the impression that some LS2's came with a 24X and a ECM.
I think 05 SSR and GTO's?

No, you can not reprogram the ECM to accept the 24x reluctor. The converter box made by lingenfelter was designed to put 58x engines in into cars that originally had 24x. I do not think anyone makes a 24x to 58x converter. If that is the case you will have to pull the motor and install a 58x crank.

2005 / 2006 GTO with three plug E40 ECM. Correct me if I am wrong but he is running a 2 plug E38 PCM.

Yup. Only solution is a 58x reluctor wheel.

Thanks a lot guys. Ive been talking to a few of my buddys and it doesnt look good. Looks like my only options may be to pull the motor take it apart and put a new reluctor in then rebalance it(probably my last choice), wait for lingenfelter to make their 24x to 58x module (rep says it should be avaible in 1 to 2 months), or just pull the motor and put back in my old ls2.If anyone has any better ideas im open to suggestions. Let me know if you have any luck with the code caleditor. That would be great if you could figure it out. Thanks for the help. BTW the cam sensor is also an ls1 1x.

you need to pull the motor and swap the reluctor.... fyi
old 411 gen 3 computers 24x reluctor, e40 computer in 05 vette, 05-06 gto, 06 trailblazer ss use 24x reluctor.... all e38's and e67 computers use 58x reluctors ie. 06+ vettes, 07+ Trucks, 07+ trailblazers,06+Cts-v's, etc etc.....
