Default random multiple misfires???????

I keep having this code pop up. I've changed plugs and wires. When I restore the stock tune it'll run perfect for about an hour then it'll misfire again. If I reinstall the performance tune from the predator, I usually have similair results. It'll run fine for a while then start misfiring again. Any ideas on what could be causing this??????????????????

well have you logged which cylinders are misfiring? that might give some insight.

log the current or history and you should see if its a bad plug/wire/coilpack.

if they are all misfiring ALOT, well, maybe someone snuck a cam in there overnight

With the hotcam I get that code if it idles after about 4 minutes or so, but it comes and goes.

I bought the car new. It has the stock cam. It's random multiple misfires. This is what really has me puzzled. I guess it's time for me to shell out the clams and take this bitch to a tuner..........I guess I need to hurry up and buy a cam too so I don't have to pay for two dynotunes. hehehehehehe

i've heard of an unbalanced 'verter causing misfires? Do a search on the topic.

Where are you logging these? every car will log misfires to a degree but without a cam you shouldn't be misifiring unless your tune is way off.

Just for the hell of it, I pulled off the MAF yesterday and cleaned it with alcohol using a Q tip. I've put about 40 miles so far without a misfire. Maybe that solved it. I sure hope it did because I'm tired of this crap.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have strange driveability issues, clean your MAF. 150 miles and still no misfires.
