Default showing code P0101

my car is speed density tuned but it has been throwing this code lately. I cleared the code and it appeared again after 60 miles. I thought the maf was turned off when tuned. I don't know much about tuning so I apologize if this is a stupid question but why would it be showing the code?

Are you getting a check engine light for the code or is it just showing up when you scan the car? With the MAF turned off for SD you will see a P0102 if you scan it but you shouldn't get a check engine light for it.

Failing the Maf in the tune will set off P0103, and unplugging it will cause a P0102. So your not in SD mode, and the P0101 is caused by a large difference between the Maf calculated airflow and the speed density calculation.

You are correct, its P0102 not P0101 if the maf is unplugged. I'm going to edit my previous post with the correct number.
