I sent you an email when I ordered my copy this morning. I was wanting you to verify that you were going to give us a year of free updates! I hope so. It has been a long time coming. Thanks for not forgetting about us!
I guess I just got my answer. Thanks!!!

from the HP Tuners board
http://www.hptuners.com/forum/YaBB.p...95;start=20#20
there are quite a number of differences:
- binaries are not segmented
- flashing routine is slightly different
- pinouts are different
- checksum routines are differnt
- more calibrations to manage (due to non segmented binaries)
- code structure is different
So seems the 97/98 PCMs are totally different internally
I think functionality is the same? Probably best to ask on the hp tuners board or email them ... they reply really fast

We are not sure when we will be releasing 97 C5 product. It seems to be a very rare vehicle and from what I am told, 97 C5's can direct bolt in the 98 C5 PCM's.
We'll look into it further though and post updates on our forum as we have them.

Does that mean if I purchase a 98 C5 PCM It should work? With the proper tuning of course.

I cannot say for sure that if you stick a 98 PCM in your 97 C5 that you will be good to go. I have not tried this personally, only been told that it may work.
Sorry but we do not have trade-ins. Our product does have resale value though.
