I've been trying to find this wideband but seems everywhere is out of them. Did the quit making them? Anybody know where I can get one?

The AFX was discontinued, but from what I gather...it seems like the better unit over the new versions.

Unless you can find somewhere that still has an old unit in stock

I would call and ask about this one. They claim its the same thing renamed. I love my AFX.

While appreciate there taking over the AFX, they are price gouging the F out if it. I paid $250 for my AFX with the good sensor.

on another note id contact ECM, engine control and monitoring. They could probably tell you where to buy one. The other unit I posted is apparently not made by ecm any longer. I found that I can send my AFX to ecm to convert it to lambda units and increase range from .6 to 1.3 for $200. Im sending it out monday.

I don't know how a company that makes such a nice wideband, stops making them. I have to wonder if it was a licensing thing or what, when it looks like bmmotorsports is selling the exact same thing.

BMMOTORSPORTS has it made, but its not the same. I read somewhere its no longer made by ECU.

Here is an email to and from Ballenger Motorsports regarding the AFR500/ afx

Jason,

In short, yes. None yet to the controller.

We did improve some of the wiring harness; reducing the sleeving size, specifying a higher grade and higher temp sleeving, improving the crimped ends, added a fuse, & increased the wire gauge.

Let us know if you have any questions or comments,
James

ECM still makes it for Ballenger Motorsports. The AFR500 is the same as the old AFX.

NGK was selling the AFX with a sensor they manufactured and with inexpensive harness manufacturing. Ballenger Motorsports is making the harnesses at their facility in the USA with better materials and improvements. The price reflects lower volumes, better harnesses, and having to purchase the NTK sensor rather than the sensor manufacturing cost.

It is also worth noting that the NTK AFRM was created because NGK wasn't happy with the margins on the AFX. NTK went cheaper on the harness, sensor, & electronics. They are both good units. If you want a proper ECM controller with a wider variety of sensors, harness lengths, & all replacement parts for the AFR500/AFX then Ballenger Motorsports is where you go now.

I like the NGK AFX now made by Ballenger Motorsports and called the AFR500. Get the upgraded NTK sensor. A little spendy.
The Zietronix works well and gives good readings.
As does the innovate LC1.

The cheap AEM look pretty, but give a ragged output in HPT. I don't like them.
