Default 4l80e lockup issue

Hey this is baffling me. Sometimes my 4l80e will shift into 4th early and lock the converter at low speed. The car is a 2000 pontiac trans am, has a pretty big cam, and a 4000 stall midwest converter. I've scanned the trans temp in hptuners scanner and it isn't getting above 140 degrees. Also when the scanner says to shift it shifts very quickly and the scanner commands lock and it locks. Which table do I need to change to get this under control. I'm shooting for not locking up til 65mph. Sometimes it commands correctly and sometimes it locks up early and won't unlock until very low mph. When I have problems it shifts into 4th around 45mph and locks the converter.

Attached is my tune and latest scan.

Any help is appreciated!

Paul

Also here is the link to my hptuners thread. It also has the files.

I tried getting ahold of hptuners but they say they can not help.

Thanks

Sorry if its unrelated, I'm not at my laptop with hptuners so I didn't check the log/tune, did you segment swap?

Sounds like the problem I had segment swapping a 2000 camaro file:

I did with two different vehicles in the repository. Maybe just bad luck?

Took a look, same problem I was having, it randomly shifts at the 0% tps vehicle speed. Same OS I had the problem with (9381344). You need to start with a 2002 file with the 12212156 OS.

I had the PO121 too before I raised those limits. Also, in my case when PO121 was active it would hold gear longer before shifting and my converter would never lock.

Russ K you are the man! Thanks and i'm sending you a pm. I don't know why bill at hptuners was telling me he could not help me when he wrote the write up.

Glad it fixed your issue. I think Bill probably has forgotten more about tuning, than most people know about tuning.
