Need help on a choosing a programmer
Ok I have a pretty well stock z plus lid and exhaust, I would like to get a programmer to mess with shift points and so forth. I would just like a few opinions on like they hypertech, diablo, and others.

If in the future you do have plans for a cam and converter and such, then YES, definitely get HP Tuners. It plugs into your cars OBDII(On Board Diagnostics vII) port, and it allows you to download your cars pcm .bin file. You can then view and edit that .bin file. When you're done editing the file, you can then upload the .bin file back to your car's pcm, and viola! You just tuned your car. Getting good at it is much more complicated then that, but thats why these boards are here . Trust me in the long run, the few extra dollars that HPTuners cost, you will consider them dollars well spent.

And on top of that, you'd be supporting an ls1tech.com sponsor! And then after you get good at tuning, you can start selling tunes to all your friends. lol

The scanner will work on any GM late model car (any OBDII car), it's not year locked.
But the tuning software (ability to download the cars PCM, and to write to the PCM) is year and model locked... so you would only beable to use the tuning software on 99 F-Body's , but you can still use the scanning software on any car (GM OBDII)
