HP Tuners: www.hptuners.com
LS1Edit: www.carputing.com

You can read all about them at their respective websites.

They basically do the same thing except HP Tuners is more user friend (interface and support) and HP Tuners is not VIN locked to one vehicle like LS1 Edit. HP Tuners is model/year locked so you can program an unlimited number of vehicles for the model/year you bought.

I agree, I have messed around with bith softwares and HP tuners is more user friendly. Also with HP Tuners you get more bang for the buck since you are getting scanning/logging software for the same price of edit.

I have no tuning experience yet . i bought my 1999 camaro 3 months ago , i have free mods, tsp clear lid ,k&n filter, and moser 12 bolt with 373 gears posi and 33 spline axles. i need to tune for my gears already but was trying to wait until i do my cam swap soon and other bolt ons.. i am going to have to do a mail order tune unless i decide to buy hp tuners. i have been reading about tuning a ls1 and i read everyone says hp tuners is more user friendly . does it come with a manual to take me through step by step ? .... what should i do?...

The fact that LSEdit has never been a sponsor, that I am aware, on any board should say it all. Get HP tuners, or wait for EFI live.

In fact, if you want to change PCM's it costs nearly much as to get another locked version of LSedit...go figure. They don't even help out their exisiting customers with a decent price break.

And yet LSEdit continues to get all of this free publicity on this board and others with a free link.

BTW...I own a licensed copy of LSEdit because when I needed edit for my 98 Z28, HP Tuners didn't sell a version for 98's. But if I ever need a scanner/tuner again it will be HP Tuners or EFILive.

do they both have the same features? does one have any advantage over the other ( other than the hp scanning tool, and recovery tool)? (i.e. certain tables in one program that are not accesible on the other?)
