MAFLESS VE Tuning

MAFLESS VE Tuning
If you guys decide to start playing with the VE tables, I have had good luck logging, and then adding 1 for every +2, and subtracting 1 for every -2. Rounding down, so for a +2 or +3 I would +1 to the VE table, etc. It really keeps you from overshooting, but it is a little time consuming. But the results are nice...

I want to hear somebody answer my question about being able to activate the higher resolution table. I can't help but be intrigued by the eerie silence I have gotten trying to dig further into this and some of the related problems.

Only if they would do us a favor and change the os for us. maybe a few lines of code can be changed to do it. As long as people are making money on this tuning bit there will ALWAYS be an eerie silence

But will we be able to do that with HP Tuners? Would we need Edit? I wouldn't feel bad about tossing a tuner a couple bucks to throw the hack in so I could tune the rest.

Oh....we won't even be able to use our junk at all. Their stuff is that picky?

How is the driveability without the MAF?
Have you messed with any other tables to run MAFless, besides the VE?
I have a buddy with a bad MAF (bought a used one online that turned out to be bad too), and I'm sure he'd rather tune it out than spring the cash for a new one.

I have another question then...
If you start getting your VE tabled nailed down, but your A:F ratios aren't where you want them, what do you adjust to bring them inline? Or is it impossible to get the Ltrims near zero without having a good A:F?
I forsee some dyno time and wideband usage to get this done, so figure those into your answer if you would.

Once the ve table is dialed in your AFR will fall right into place. most of us/some of us have a stand alone WB and tune while driving on the street under normal conditions.
I have been dialing in my WOT at the track under race conditions since my WB is always in my passenger seat....

Does the VE tuning work just the same at WOT, or do you play with the PE for that?
I don't see why you couldn't do this with an A4... My buddy's car is an A4, as is mine. I'm considering trying this out on my own car as well.

Man, my trims are looking awesome. All between 1 and -2, except three -3s that popped up because I hadn't hit them a lot. Sweet. Maybe I will remove the MAF permanently, even running on the secondary VE table I got them dialed in sweet. It's weird. Once you get them to almost zero they don't seem to fluctuate as much as they did before with temperature changes. But that could be my imagination.
