Default Cannot change MAF values in HPTuners . . . Need help !

I have a problem changing the values in the MAF Airflow vs Frequency Table. I type in a new value into the cell and push the "Save" Button. Instead of saving this new value, the program changes the value that i typed in to the first digit. e.g. I type in 2,67 in the 1500 Hz cell, push "Save", and the Programm changes the value to "2,00" . . . I have the decimals set to "2", but even in "5" i just get "2,0000".

What can i do ?
Hope you guys can help me !

Thanks

Jochen

When you change a cell, you need to COMMIT the changes first and then, save it.

Thats what i did. I add a value, push "commit" - value is fine (new value is visible in the cell, correctly). When i push now the "save" button, it gives me only the first digit, nothing behind the point . . .

Are you modifying your .bin or a .bin from the repository? Is the .bin a file you have support for? (if you don't have a license for the year/model the editor acts as a display only program, doesn't allow modifications)

Its the .bin file i downloaded from my car. I changed already many things, like VE table, Fan ON/OFF settings, CAGS . . . uploaded back in car, all worked fine except this MAF table.

I tried to do this as well: i copied all values in this table and tried to past it into an excel spreadsheet to modify all values at once. The pasted values are as well only the first digit. E.g. instead of having:

2.45 4.56 7.89

i just get:

2 4 7

I am about to get crazy

make sure you have the precision set to 2 decimal points (there's a drop down to change precision, select 2 and then hit reload table)

Thats what i ve checked first. Even if i set the decimals to "5", i still get only the first number (i shure did try "2" there) . . .

Try changing the decimal to 2 places and "reload" the table.

Set your resolution to 5 decimal points. The ECM only has resolution to something like 0.00006 (or near there). All table values will be rounded to the nearest limit of the ECMs resolution.

Problem solved. I Emailed Chris at HPTuners and he found out:

The values in the table read like this: 2,45 5,78

B U T

The Program doesnt like when i type in the comma "," sign. I need to use the point "."

So i have to use: 2.45 5.78

Really confusing

Thanks for your help.

no offense buy why would you type in a comma instead of the decimal point?

Well, two reasons:

1. in germany we use not a "." we use a "," its even on the nummeric block on the right site of the keyboard. I always use the "," button for calculations and it always worked.
2. The numbers in the MAF table are as well written with a comma, not with a point. so i just used it and the program takes it as i wrote. T type in 2,47 and the value in the table reads 2,47. Everything seemed fine untill i save it. Then the values change in the way i explained above . . .

ok, i just did a test, I set my Local to Germany and got exactly what you described... now the periods look like commas... so I can definetly see how this would look confusing ... not something most of us here would have thought of (I know I didn't know about the different character for decimal points)

load w/Regional options set to Germany:
2,52
Close MAF table and reload with US
2.52

Job is done. MAF table calibrated. All LTFTs where around plus 15 to plus 20. I just added 15% to all MAF table values. I logged again today and have now all LTFTs between -5 and +5. In some areas its like a bunch of plus, most are around +1 or +2, some areas have -5. Car feels definitaly better now. Much better ! I guess when i get all values down to -4 to 0 car will feel even better. I guess now i have to deal with redhardsupras spreadsheet to fine tune . . .

Thanks,

Jochen
