Deleting EGR and AIR!
K guys I know I been on here a lot lately sorry. I just yanked my egr and air and did some searching but couldn't locate it. How do you remove them from your VCM?? Or do you just shut them off. Oh yeah.. how do you delete codes permanently. Sorry for asking but I gotta go to work in an hour and I still gotta go run to buy a freeze plu. Thanks a bunch all.

edit-> engine diagnostics, DTCs
I thihnk they're all P04xx codes, anything that says EGR or AIR change Error mode to No Error Reported
This is what I did w/my car, then I pulled the fuse for the AIR Pump
I think there's something in the editor to turn the air pump off as well... I 'll look for it after dinner

Damn I love this place. Just got everything done started her up and she couldn't even idle. Turned it off and cleaned up. Started her up to move her and everythings fine.
Oh another question, theres a vacuum line that goes out of the round carbon filter on the back of the engine (the one I ripped out) the vacuum line goes to these sensors. Do those come out too? I did it to my 97 when I ripped out the motor but I don't recalled if it needed to be removed.
thanks again

you need to leave those vacuum lines (you're talking about the ones on the back of the intake manifold?)
Big hose is brake booster, small hose is HVAC , the sensor they feed from is the MAP sensor, next to that the big tall sensor that sticks up is the oil pressure sensor, the one that goes inside the block is the cam sensor

hmmm... the ones that plug into the valve covers? if so that's the PCV system so leave that... Can't think of anything else that's back there... but I tore all that stuff out of my car years ago so may just be a brain fart on my part

Is there a reason you need to zero out the EGR/Spark Advance table? I looked at a BIN in the HPTuners .bin collection and the one I looked at didn't have that table zeroed out.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'd like to know that as well

My guess (answering my own question) is that it may very well be safe to leave the values in there, however, it may induce knock if in fact it ever does add the timing, causing KR, and we don't really want to see that. Its probably more of a safety thing in that they should never get used, however if they do, it's better to just zero them out.

All the timing addition is at low rpms anyway, and there's a slim chance for getting any knock. Keep in there, or zero it out, you won't notice... (Unless your low rpm timing is really ramped up!)
