You might want to check and see what codes are throwing that SES light. If you unplugged your MAF or altered the fail freq. AND set those codes to NO MIL, then something else is more than likely wrong. Double check everything...

Do service vehicle lights throw the same codes? The only codes I saw were for P0103...
When I do my open loop tuning, I have it set to throw the SES light on the first failure. It does that like a charm. But no "Service Vehicle" light. When I put in the closed loop tune with the SES light (but not the code) turned off, it stumbles around for a bit before it goes into SD, but instead of setting the SES (which it shouldn't since I have it turned off), it sets the "Service Vehicle" instead.
Just wondering if it was normal...seems legit to me.

That is normal as my 2001 Camaro SS does the same. Only way to not have the "Service Vehicle" light not illuminate is to set the MAF codes to "No MIL Light" and disable the SES. IMHO.

Alright, answered my own question by doing an experiment.
I have the car tuned for SD, but I've closed the loop back up. I zeroed out the MAF table entirely, so even if it did try to run on it, it wouldn't know its elbow from its *** hole. As long as you don't click the "No error reported" box, it will still set the code.
Bottom line: if you are running without a MAF, but are like me and can't just unplug it because your IAT sensor is incorporated with it, just make sure that codes P0101, P0102, and P0103 are set to "No MIL Light" AND "SES Enabled" is set to "Off." It will still trip the code for SD as long as you don't click the "No error reported" box. No SES light, no Service Vehicle light, nothing.
