Default rpms come down too slow, rev isnt as fast as i like

how can i fix this? i thought my timing coudl have something to do with it but i changed it back with no help.

id like to have the car rev quicker, can i do that with one of the throttle cracker tables, or something like that?

also when i back off the rpms will hang sometimes, also they may go to normal and then rev up a little then go back down to normal. i dont really get why it does that. all idle airflow values are close than they have ever been

I'm assuming you mean rev faster in neutral... I'm not positive, but I think the throttle follower table might be what you're interested in.

The situation you describe (rpms come down too slow) ... is that in gear/moving? I think the throttle cracker table is used while you're still moving.

ok well i messed with the 0 speed settings for the cracker and follower and wow, lot better response and recovery. i set them up by the closest cells, im gonna go up more. i love to just tap the gas and have the revs shoot up

What was it you ended up doing for the rpms coming down too slow?

Is this related to tuning?

I just upgraded my cam to TR224(114), and am using the dynotune from the last cam GT2-3. I've upped my idle a tad, but the rest of the tune is just as before.

I'm using LS1 Edit here.

What do I modify to adjust for the rpms dropping too slowly, when I pull the car out of gear??

Thanks

Did you drill a bigger hole in the throttle body blade? If yes, the hole you drilled is now too big! ...so get a smaller hole....

Sounds like an extension of https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/374495-rpms-go-too-high-start-up-now.html.
Now you know even more about idle tuning.

What values did you mess with again? And by how much? I'd be interested in screwing around with this just to see what it does.

Nope, I didnt do anything with the throttle body.
I was running before, and still am using, the CNC ported TB from SLP.

I did bump up my Idle Speed a little bit, after the cam.
It was too jerky and too easy to stall (M6).

I also bumped up the Idle Air a little too, reverse was too jerky also!

I dont recall if the slow rpm drop was an issue before I changed the Idle Speed/Idle Air.

Any more thoughts?

ill have to go look. i didnt change them much just a little bit.

purrvert, that problem was due to my high timing. i knocked down the timing thrown in on start up and it helped that up. right now the idle timing is about 15* higher in the higher rpms and the rpms will rev high until the car runs for about 1 min. after that they dont hang anymore.
