Most user friendly tuning program
Christmas is around the corner and I think I want to buy myself a tuning program. What tuning program is the most user friendly for a newbie. I'm also going to buy a LM1.

HPTuners and EFI are both Extremely user friendly...
it does help if you read a lot in here and ask questions when trying to figure out the best things to do to tune your vehicle...but both programs are the most popular around here...
I'm a little bit partial to HP Tuners...
pleas see the stickies for more tuner software Info

HP Tuners VCM Suite 2.0 was designed to be the most user friendly tuning solution available.. It also happens to have many very powerful features not found in other packages that are are very easy to use as well.

Since your short on time, here is an easy way to get a quick overview of how user friendly VCM Suite 2.0 is.

You won't find gm tuning software with an easier to use layout than VCM Suite 2.0. VCM Suite 2.0 is a combination of almost 2 years worth of LS1 tuner feedback from both professional tuners and weekend enthusiasts.
We also support more GM vehicles than any other laptop based tuning solution available to the public.
We also have LS2 products in the hands of our tunershop customers and have already began working on the LS7 lineup.
.. we are also adding Ford and Dodge vehicles to VCM Suite 2.0 as well.

ugh... another one of these... read the stickies, check the manufacturers web sites and see which you like better
Both are excellent tuning packages, and user friendly
---locked before it turns into another pissing match overnight

incase the initial poster doesn't know, for HP Tuners to interface with the LM1 or LC1 wideband, you will need to purchase the EIO upgrade when you order. I have HP Tuners, and just got the 2.0 software upgrade. i love it, it has descriptions for tables, and can show just newb stuff or all the pro tuner stuff. i have heard good things about EFI also, but i simply chose HP Tuners.

I'm stuck between HP Tuners and EFI live. I don't want this to turn into a pissing match either. I just want to hear everyones "honest opinions" on your likes and dislikes of the two. If you don't own either of them then don't post.

Download a demo of each and have a play , I used to use LS1edit then HPT and now EFILIVE FLASHSCAN , in my opinion flashscan is by far the better tool and more inuitive.
You can get a demo of flashscan here

Keep in mind many if not all here that have used HPT before used 1.7 ... 2.0 HP Tuners is leaps and bounds ahead of 1.7 ... I was showing it off at our Last track rental and several people I was showing it to were following along very well ... excellent help manual, multiple ways to navigate (choose which you like better, tab style or tree style) ... while I was tuning their cars (one of my favorite features of HP Tuners... licensing is model/year based... I have all V8 F-Body's so i was able to tweak my friends cars for free)

We should have a poll on who all have used Edit, HPT, and Live. Then IF you have used all three, which is your preference. I know of several that have switched from Edit to HPT, Edit to EFI Live, and HPT to EFI Live. I haven't heard of anyone yet that has switched from EFI Live to HPT..... If there is I would like to know and why.

I'm not going to babysit this thread all night (since seems it'll be going that way due to responses I've had to edit/remove already) so this thread goes the way all the others have gone....
